This is my DT offering for TIOT challenge this week. It is an mail box American style, with small cards inside ( 3 by 6 inches ). I used some fancy pants paper which has been around a while, the image is a gorguss one, I was able to use part of the image, where I had not stamped the whole image well, see there is only happy mistakes.

Dee decided that she wanted to use the cameo to cut out angel she had bought from the silhouette shop it has been designed by Kenzie Daley. I suggest we got the instructions up on Kenzie blog, Dee was sure she could do it without these. After a great deal of hmm, puff and sighing here is the finished angel spot the mistake.

She admitted defeat and went to www.3under3andmore.blogspot.com were the martini glass gave the clue to the construction here's the great corrected angel.

TIOT Challenge

The challenge is a card which is all your own work, so no stickers, no design paper. I must admit to having a ready stamped image I stamped at stamping club, it is using the spotlighting technique, the image is from stampin up and the ink is not quite navy I think. I used a 5 by 5 inch card to make an easel card and covered the bottom with a piece of blue card embossed with Swiss dots, the flowers are made with the same blue card cut out to make flowers. No words as I not sure what sentiment I want to use. Go and look at my team mates cards here they are wonderful.

Santa card that's the challenge on TIOT this week. I decided to go pre Co cola so not a red Santa. I used a topper from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Christmas CD and the paper.

I used a spell binders die (square) to cut out the picture to add some dimension and interest. The corners were rounded with the corner chomper.

The flower was made with a scrap of the card left over from the base. Hope you like the idea and it might inspire you to try something different with a topper. Do go and see my team mate brilliant cards on the TIOT blog here and have a go yourself. Hugs Bee

The Paperlane Challenge Unconventional Christmas

This is the back of an advent house display, no Greens, Blues, Reds as per the challenge found here

I did this stamped scene so the advent house can be displayed on Christmas Day.
The stamps are all Molly Bloom, here are some close ups of the images, the stamps are all cut out and stuck down.

The stamps are all Molly Blooms and coloured with pro markers.
Here a view of the front of the advent house which does not fit into the challenge, but I thought I would show it you. Have you spotted the dual use of the reindeer antlers ?

TIOT Altered can

Having made this I was keen to post this project, and tried to do so a week early what am I like. This was a really easy project and I think it looks quite effective.

The can was covered with 12 by 12 paper, no longer in stock so using every last piece carefully. I covered both the inside and outside and any metal areas were coloured with pro markers.

The pencil and pen are inexpensive ones covered with off cuts of paper, with small bits of ribbon and bells attached.

The snowflakes are punch out ones from glitter card.


The image is a Molly Bloom one coloured with pro markers and the image is raised with foam tape

This was a fun project that anyone could do. Try it and I will come to your blog to see. TIOT Challenge a different shaped card.

Hi this is a different shaped card I promise, the instructions for making this card are in my previous post, I did try to make a much more complicated card but half way through I discovered the measurements were incorrect.. Life has been busy beyond measure this week, I have spent the week making Halloween things for a fundraiser at Debbie's shop, and then helping her do the prep for her Sunday school class and Sunday we spent at a friend's helping him do his Christmas cards, and hours on the phone to HR etc on Monday. TIOT Challenge Anything Goes Take to the Skies

This is my DT card, I was planning simple after a suggestion from Dee, and it may look simple but it was a jiggle to get it to line up, but as I like the finish card, I will have to do further jiggling to create more. Dee said taking to the skies was the Snowman and as she had bought the CD from CC I decided to use it. The card design was from Nicky of Polka Doodles, it basically a 6 by 6 inch square card basically scored at about 1.5 cm from the fold line on both sides and then theses 3 score lines are folded to make a M shape.

The papers are printed from the CD with the aperture cut by an oval spellbinder die after the paper was applied. The image and sentiment are rubber stamped and coloured with pro markers, there are liberal amounts of glitter but the photo does not show it to well.
Here is a close up of the image.

The image was cut out and suspended by acetate, so it looks like the snowman is flying. Have a good week. Hugs Bee

World cardmaking challenge on LOTV

LOTV ideas to inspire are having a challenge on there site for world card making day. I have made a card specially for it and also as a birthday card, I am a little worried it is OTT but it was fun to do.
The stamp image is a 'sassy' little lady found here at Lilli of the Valley she is called Feather Boa I coloured her in various pro markers orange and mounted her on a die cut made by putting two die together to get the cut out.shape. The feathers are an old die which shouted feathers to me but maybe they are leaves trying to think outside the box, the black gems are from my stash and the paper was from a stamping class. I am not sure this post will make it onto TIOT as I was late posting, I think the blog gremlin has been around as it would not let me post. The challenge this week is for it's a wonderful world, and children playing always make me think of that. Please click on picture to enlarge and view.

The stamps are from Lili of the valley coloured with promarkers. The papers used are really old ones from my stash. They were a set of cards I made for a dear friend of my daughters who's a teacher so the picture was taken at her house, so a bunny card has appeared that should not. I spent all week end when Dee was away looking for that card as I needed it for someone, I gave up and made another one.

This is the box they were in. the box idea comes from Janet, it's a really useful design.

The Paperlane Challenge Anything but a card

I really enjoyed making this challenge, the backpack idea is from Splitcoaststampers and the rubber stamp is George the school boy by Molly Bloom,

The back pack is made from 2 pieces of A4 and the paper is a digital download from My Grafico,

I love the stamp and I was able to colour it with just six promarkers colours apart from the skin tones, I used the fine push on nibs for the detail.

Try It On Tuesday challenge using a old stamp not yet used

I realized when Dee looked for stamps me to use for this challenge how many stamps we have that have not been used, I felt quite ashamed and that we need to use them. The the stamp is from Hampton Art and was bought in the Stamp man shop about 14 years ago and never used because I was scared of it looking unfinished. I had seen great cards made with the image which I did not think I could match, this is my attempt with encouragement from Dee.

The background has been done using distressed inks, the crackle rubber stamped background is from creative impressions again it's first use. The smaller swirls are the ends of old rub ones and the large swirl is a die cut I bought in a bag of odds and ends.

Try It On Tuesday challenge monochrome

I hope I have this right, I looked monochrome up and it is tones of the same colour in my card that is pink, but I have cheated as I need blush for the arms and legs and I thought the dog would not be good in pink. I did have a black tonal card but it has disappeared from my photo library and as I gave it as a birthday card last week can't take another picture.

The card is an easel card, but I have this time just added the image to part of easel upright and I think it looks okay, the paper is from my stash, the sentiment is from a Stampin Up set and the border is made with a Martha Stewart punch.

The image is a stamp from Lili of the Valley I used it for a birthday card but it could be used for other types of card. Thanks for looking have a good week, hugs Bee

Try It On Tuesday challenge altered item

Sorry no original picture of the box, it was just an orange box with black, yellow and orange stationary in it, bought as a gift. I thought the colours suggested giraffe's which is the favourite animal of a friend. I decided to alter it more to reflect the giraffe theme.

The paper around the outside is a copy of giraffe fur you cannot see it in the picture but you can almost think it's real, I have tried to find the link for it but cannot find it.

First week on DT for Try It On Tuesday

The Challenge for TIOT this week is Hang it up - a hanging of any sort. I have made a hanging for the kitchen of Dee's friend Helen. It has two sides the front side has the Mo Manning digital image

called what's cooking, it can be found here, I coloured it with pro markers. The papers are bits from my stash and the letters are from a rusty pickle adhesive letters. The pen is for the one you can never find in the kitchen. The back has a little surprise:

It has a pocket to put those little pieces of paper you need to save and can't find a home for, again the papers are from my stash. Here's a close up of the image

Phew did not think I would make the Chrisma Cardz challenge but in plenty of time for Guylou's Inimitability challenge. I could not find the stamp I wanted, it's one of the very first stamps I got, it's a penny black from wait for it 1999. I made one card then oh no it got damage so I had to start again, and then I could not find a sentiment I like, finally used a friends stampin up one, as I could not find my set. Pollka Doodles Challenge summer

This is a tongue in cheek entry for the Polka Doodles Challenge. Summer this year is very rainy to say the least so my entry is related to that theme, I think Wellies are the main item of use so far this summer. These are two of my favourite characters on A Double Sprinkle of Kraft CD in Wellies cut into a shaped card and coloured with Pro markers, I think they are keeping dry in all the rain.

Week 20 Challenge at Polka Doodles Anything But A Card

This is my
entry for the challenge on the Polka Doodles Blog. It is a exploding box made from A4 sheets of card so small and neat, I had made a big 12" by 12" exploding box as a 18th birthday box album and wanted something smaller, and found the instructions for this A4 size in my folder, sorry I don't know where I got the measurements from to give credit.
I used the Double Sprinkle of Craft CD by Polka Doodle,s a recent purchase, for the black and white images on the box , which I coloured with Pro markers, using some of the tutorial ideas from the CD. The papers were some I had, had from a local craft shop and the right colours. Really enjoyed doing this project.

This is Dee's card she wanted to do something different.
The card itself is in a photo frame and the image used is a Precious Moments one which was sent from the USA, coloured with pro-markers. The frame has a swirl pattern stamped on it in latte ink. The sentiment is from a Dulcie's stamp set. The easel was a plain wood one painted with gesso and edged with latte ink. There are several flat backed pearls dotted around.

As it was a very special wedding, I wanted a very special card. The card is made from a template

for each letter, first cut out of light chipboard and then covered with various scrapbook wedding papers from Holly Red . The letters were cut by hand not a machine, so may not be perfect but made with love. The finished card was inked around the edges with a Adirondack dye ink pad in Latte and small pearls stuck on each letter. I used silk flowers again, which I coloured to match again with the Adirondack dye ink pad. I put a special message on the back, but left the individual pages blank for their photo's. Hugs Bee

The crafting side of a wedding in the family.

It is true to say lots of tears (happy ones) are usually shed at a wedding, so I thought I would make these, they are pocket tissue holders. More elegant than the originals, and the tissues were special packs.

The close up is the brides, as you will probably tell by the image. The others were for the bridesmaids and The Mother of the Bride.

I have used craft house paper and ribbon from Holly Red . The image is a Magnolia bride a gift from a friend which I coloured with pro-markers. The flowers I have had for a while, they are made of silk. Hugs Bee

This card was for my friend Elaine's birthday, it was late, but I think I am forgiven. The card was cut with a labels 8 die and I used papers and card from a local craft shop. As I was in such a hurry to post last night I did not put any details about the card. The image is a Lili of the Valley stamp coloured in to give a Sepia effect seems to be a current favorite of mine. The card is from the local craft shop and edged in old paper distressed ink. The lace pattern was create using a ready cut lace design on paper which Dee yucked at on the roll but loves on the card. There is ribbon around the card, the sentiment is from a Forever Friends rubber stamp set. photo's not to good so may re take tonight and re post photo. Card by Bee

Vintage Book mark Challenge

The bookmark is craft card that has been embossed and then edged with vintage photo ink. The image is one of Joanna Sheen's, I choose this image as the bookmark is for a friend who has just come back from the Falklands (now that was some long flight). The cutting may not be completely straight as my cutter has lost it's blade, so all cutting is by eye and scissors (no I don't have a built in eye laser). This was out of my comfort zone as I do not do distressing/messy (wimp or what). I went to a stamp club and had promised my Dee I would do distressing (ink on the fingers for proof). The demo's were the bottom panel of the hanging distressed inks and Tim's stamps. The top panel was my take, inks again but applied with a brush and Heddi Swapp stamps, quote is on of Tim's. Might develop a liking fo distressing, glad Dee's already got the inks. Bee

I made this album from a design by Andrea Walford, It was really enjoyable to make. It is call a tri shutter album and was made for one of my ex- bosses at work who retired yesterday.

The album when open is over 30 inches long, the base card use is Stampin up craft card 12 x 12. The papers are long since retired so I have not listed them. This album is for grandchildren picture and annotation about them.

The pictures are various views, blogger won't let me set them out as I want, think I need to alter the settings. Take care Bee

An enjoyable day at one of our local craft shops 'Embsay Crafts' with friends at the card club organised by Elaine. The company was good as were the ideas that flowed around, thank you one and all. Thanks to Michelle for the lift even though she was not well. We saw a ribbon box that you put together yourself, that had been decorated by Katie thanks for the inspiration.
We came home and decided to make one up, the box is coloured with Adirondack inks in Denim and Stonewash and distressed ink in peeled paint. The box was sprayed with cosmic shimmer in silver. The letters are the spazzghetti font by Sizzix. The buttons and flowers are from Edwina's in Bradford, and coloured with matching inks. We really enjoyed making this box only seven more to go. I realise the challenge was cakes & balloons,and I have done a retirement card. The card is for a manager at work on his retirement. Saw this idea on a few blogs sorry can't remember where, but thanks for the idea. It's basically an easel card, with a box attached. The paper is craft house bought in a local craft shop called Holly Red, the paper has the same design on both sides one dark & one light tone. The rub on word is from a set I have had for a while and the flower support is also a rub on from that set. My friend who is retiring was really pleased with the card and also the gift in the box. Last minute as usual, but blogger would not let me post pictures, several people seem to have had the same problem. The card is cover in kaban paper, the stamps are Inkadinkado and the quote is mine it's says "life is sometimes about being up and sometimes being down", if you look at the stamped images you will see why. I used masking to stamp the individual images, I forgot how much I like doing masking. The images are coloured with pro markers. Bee

This is my rosette for the challenge. It was made by adapting a template from paper mania and the stamped image is called Giddyup. It seems a good idea to have a kind of race image on a rosette, the image is coloured with watercolours. The paper is from Heidi Swapp's carefree range Dee

Please don't fall over in surprise I have managed to produce a card for this challenge, on the first day of the challenge. I am amazed !!!! This card is for my dads birthday. It's an easel card made as described on the Stamp man Blog. The images and backing paper are from Joanna Sheen's ATC CD on special offer on her website at the moment. The colleagues at work were please with their silk bath milk etc in the boxes. One of my colleagues thought I had made sherbet dip and decided to try it out on Christmas day. One tiny taste and she realised her mistake, she had not got her glasses on and so had not read the enclosed slip. Her husband thought it was really funny. Life sometimes makes you really smile. Bee

I realized that the last blog sounded like showing off. I had only done a count because I could not work out why I was not ready for Christmas. Michelle who has left a comment on my previous blog produced some fantastic bagalopes and boxes etc mine were fairly simple with a few fancy ones but no photo's of those. Christmas Joy to You all.

I realise it's over two months since we have put anything on the blog. We have been crafting I promise but no photo's due to a broken camera and phone camera's that do not take pictures that are good enough to post.I worked out that we have made over 300 Christmas cards for fund raising events, over 40 boxes and bags for colleagues at work all with hand made gifts in them. Debbie and I have a special day with lots of good friends yesterday, a visit to the Stamp Man with lots of goodies, discounts great demos and coffee and chocolate biscuits, and above all very special friends. We went on after a great lunch at Janet's we went to Embsay paper craft extravaganza day to get a great goodies box and more fun and a visit to the pub even sat outside. The card was real fun to do and is much paler, the photo makes it look dark. the middle opens as a accordion fold out for pictures. Bee

I have been trying to do this post since Saturday, it kept disappering. Had an interesting sat morning learning how to make bath etc treats. Another house card this time I used a stampin up jumbo roller and their house stamp. I then coloured using watercolours. It is just matted into card and a piece of scrapbooking paper. I think the image was what was left at the end of another card project. Love doing the card below but don't always have the time, so there are more of these types of card. Enjoy your day. Bee

The papers were won at a craft club so don't know the make or name, the flower is made from a is a sizzlet daisy die each flower is three layers two pattern and one white pearl. Made these cards using some reduced price scrap-booking papers that caught my eye, but can't remember the name or make. The rubber stamps are Paper Artsy, I stamped them onto the scrapbook paper. Tried out both orientations of card, and I think they both work. Interesting how little can make a card work. Feeling down today, it would have been my 34 wedding anniversary today, and my late husbands birthday yesterday, so not a lot of mojo. Bee

Altered looking glass frame

At craft group on Wednesday, Janet (our leader, in the nicest way) had a project to do a altered Ikea frame(idea originally from craft Stamper). We cut with help 40 1.1/4 inch squares (mount board, the original had stamp-board ready cut squares, it depends on your budget as to what you use) and coloured them with inks. Then stamped an image on each one, then a swipe with a embossing ink pad and a coat of clear embossing powder. That's as far as I got on Wednesday, I did another coat of embossing powder which I think is better and even another coat would be good. But I had a time constraint, as it was for my son's girl friend and she is going back to the states next week-end. You arrange the squares in a pleasing arrangement that is the most difficult part of the task, you can use an adhesive of your choice, glossy accents was suggested. I thought that would be to expensive but in fact you use so little it is not. You would spray a clear vanish over the top, masking as require. I was pleased with it and my son's girl friend really liked it. It has set me off on all sorts of thoughts for altered art projects.

Sorry, we have been a little while in blogging after all the invites we needed a little time to sort ourselves out. This my fathers day card, it is a Tri - shutter card, I don't know the papers used as Dee won them at a craft class. The rubber stamps are the Down in the woods, masculine clear stamp collection. They are stamped on pearl finished card and water coloured, Dee has some pro markers for colouring, which she really likes, but I go for water colours in preference. Hope my dad likes the card. Bee

As promised details of the tri- fold pocket card made for a friends ball to raise money for the charity for Meningitis Trust. I managed to do each of the cards for 30 pence each. The pocket is a black piece of card which was embossed on a big shot. The ovals and scallops are nestablities dies. The rubber stamp is a feather which a great e bay seller called zim-babe searched out for me. It is stamp in yellow with a light brown spine (symbol of the charity). The inside card is done with a Cuttle bug embossing folder. Hope you like them if you would like to see the favour boxes and menu cards let me know.
